聖經葡萄樹的比喻
聖經葡萄樹的比喻非常多，這跟當時人們的飲食文化有關。葡萄是早期希伯來民族的食物之一，聖地的高原和丘陵為葡萄種植提供了理想的場所。整片土地，沿著山坡種植葡萄樹。葡萄樹經過栽培和修剪，以便盡可能多地結出果實。
葡萄樹在經文中經常被用作為比喻。在約翰福音中，耶穌用葡萄樹的比喻來解釋耶穌與門徒之間關係的本質。
在前往客西馬尼園之前，耶穌教導門徒如果要繼續做祂的門徒，他們該如何生活。在那個神聖的時刻，他教導的事情之一是他們的生活必須基於以下的話語：
約15:1-2 我是真葡萄樹，我父是栽培的人。 凡屬我不結果子的枝子，他就剪去；凡結果子的，他就修理乾淨，使枝子結果子更多。
約15:4-5 你們要常在我裡面，我也常在你們裡面。枝子若不常在葡萄樹上，自己就不能結果子；你們若不常在我裡面，也是這樣。 我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。常在我裡面的，我也常在他裡面，這人就多結果子；因為離了我，你們就不能做什麼。
耶穌將自己比喻成【葡萄樹】，
將人們比喻成【枝子】，
將 神比喻成【栽種葡萄的農夫】。
所有的樹木都是從樹木上發芽，芽再長大成為枝子，然後在那枝子上結果子。
枝子只要離開樹木，樹木的汁液和水分無法供給到枝子那裡，這樣枝子就會死。
耶穌藉著這段比喻告訴人們要藉由相信來與 神所差派的主接枝，才能像葡萄樹一樣結果子。
在這個比喻中有兩個重要的教導：
第一，我們必須以基督成為一體，如果不這樣做，我們就不會結果子(約翰福音 15：4)。如果我們的生活與救主的教導不一致，我們就不會結出好果子，就像從葡萄樹上剪下來的樹枝不會結出果實一樣。
第二，即使我們相信神、度過信仰生活，我們仍然需要園丁，這個園丁對我們非常了解，並超越我們所看到的，所以或修剪和淨化我們(約翰福音 15：2)。雖然有時這種修剪似乎讓人難以忍受，然而透過改正自己的矛盾及錯誤，才得以成為結出纍纍果實之人。

太7:17-19
這樣，凡好樹都結好果子，惟獨壞樹結壞果子。 好樹不能結壞果子；壞樹不能結好果子。 凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裡。

Happy is the worshipper of the Lord, who is walking in his ways. You will have the fruit of the work of your hands: happy will you be, and all will be well for you. Your wife will be like a fertile vine in the inmost parts of your house: your children will be like olive plants round your table. See! this is the blessing of the worshipper of the Lord.
